  • Initial 15-minute consultation is free.

    Cost per session ranges from $140 - $200, depending on time and type of session.

    Typical therapy sessions are 50 minutes for $150.

  • Insurance and Self-Pay. All clients must register at HelloAlma.com and choose my name for your therapist. If you have insurance that is accepted by Alma, it will be processed by the kind folks at Alma, and your deductible, or co-pay will be collected. You can choose to do automatic payment as well, it that is easier for you. Just upload information on Hello Alma site.

    If yo will be paying out of pocket, (not using any insurance) all you need to do is upload payment information on the Hello Alma site.

    I will be in touch to schedule an appointment once Hello Alma receives all information .

  • It is curtious to cancel 24 hours prior to scheduled appointment. You will be granted one miss, but after that I will expect payment of the full session, at the rate of 150 dollars.

  • All sessions are virtual. I may on occasion be able to have a walk and talk, if you would like to meet in person. We would go to a local park and walk and talk!

    Therapy while walking can be very beneficial, both mentally and physically.

    A walk and talk with our dogs included is also possible.

  • In therapy visits, you might:

    Talk. Therapists have people talk about their feelings.

    Learn things. Therapists teach lessons about emotions, thoughts, coping skills, facing fears, and much more.

    Practice new skills. For example, we may practice meditation, breathing techniques, managing your thoughts through guided imagery.

    Assignments Between Sessions. You may be given a therapeutic assignment such as write-down thoughts during the week or practice breathing or anti-anxiety techniques.

    Work through reprocessing traumatic memories through the use of EMDR.

    Find your strengths so you can move through your week with new insight and energy.

    Together we come up with a treatment plan that outlines goals and objectives you would like to achieve.

  • You can be home, in your car, at work, where ever it is quiet and you feel secure. You will need to be in the state of Maryland, do to the restrictions from the licensing boards of each state. My license is in Maryland, so you need to be in the state during our session.

  • Sessions are 50 minutes. On occasion we may go over, but it is not every time. Typically there is a client following your session, so I will need to prepare in the 10 minutes between sessions.

    If we are doing intensive EMDR, and you are a private pay client, we can have sessions for 90 minutes.

  • Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing therapy, commonly known as EMDR, is a mental health therapy method. EMDR treats mental health conditions that happen because of memories from traumatic events in your past. It’s best known for its role in treating post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), but can be used for treatment of many other situations and conditions.

  • If you do not wat to use insurance and want to be pay out of pocket, that is perfectly fine. Often, individuals do not want to their use insurance due to the stigma of a mental health diagnosis associated with their health record. Insurance will only pay for services if a diagnosis code is attached to the insurance form submitted by HelloAlma.

    For out of pocket or self-pay, you can set up the form of payment within the HelloAlma site.
